The planet is at risk of being submerged by plastic. At Black Baza, over the years, we’ve taken hundreds of small, deliberate actions to conserve biodiversity on coffee farms. It would feel like a complete contradiction if that coffee then ended up in packaging that suffocates biodiversity in landfills or oceans.
So our effort has been to use the best available packaging technology — ensuring our coffee bags leave behind no footprint.

The inner bag you receive your coffee in may look like conventional plastic, but it’s far from it. It’s made from polyethylene (a common plastic polymer), compounded with a naturally derived enzyme that enables soil bacteria to break down the carbon chains over time.
In the right conditions, this bag is fully consumed by soil bacteria within two to three years, without significantly altering soil pH.
For us, it’s important that our coffee is as close to zero waste as possible.
This is also why we don’t use a plastic valve. We believe that a few brewing adjustments — and a little compassion for the planet — can offset the minor loss of freshness.
Sorry, but not sorry.
That said, we welcome debate. Truly. If you’d like to engage more deeply, write to Arshiya at contact@blackbazacoffee.com.
