Social Media Manager Full-time +

We are looking for a creative, sincere and resourceful Social Media Manager to join our small yet spirited team. Your role will be to bring our mission to life on social media — telling the stories of farmers, celebrating the forests that grow our coffee, and sharing the joy of a great cup.

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Lead, and working closely with our teams in both the field and the city, you’ll manage our social calendar, shoot and edit engaging short-form content for Instagram and other platforms, and help grow our online community in a way that’s true to our values. You will have the opportunity to engage with our audience through social media platforms, newsletters, field notes, and in-person gatherings at our Roastery.

If you understand Instagram beyond the surface level, keep a keen eye on social trends, love creating meaningful content that inspires change and enjoy fieldwork and travel, we’d love to hear from you. This is an opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. We prefer that you are genuinely passionate about social and environmental change; the rest we will figure out together!

The mindset we are looking for:

  • Deep enthusiasm for Black Baza Coffee’s mission and brand.
  • Commitment to ethical, honest, and culturally rooted storytelling.
  • Open to feedback, collaborative, and excited to bring fresh perspectives.
  • Kind, respectful, and genuinely passionate about community-building.

If this role excites you, please send us:

  • Your CV
  • A cover letter telling us why you’d love to work with us
  • A reference, or two
  • 3 video content ideas based on current IG trends, and how Black Baza Coffee could make them our own

Please note that we are a women-led organisation and will proactively (but not exclusively) hire in this way.

We strictly do not accept applications via DMs on Instagram.

Location: Bangalore
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in social media coordination or content creation (experience in another field is fine if you can show us strong content creation skills).
Application Deadline: Rolling
Commitment: 2 years preferred
Remuneration: Some things are best discussed over coffee, benefits included! We’ll talk in person.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Marketing team to bring Black Baza Coffee’s unique voice and values to life on social channels — from everyday updates to new launches and campaigns.
  • Develop and curate compelling stories about the everyday lives of coffee growers and their surrounding ecosystems.
  • Create engaging content that highlights the origins of our coffee, the experiences of farmers, and the importance of biodiversity conservation.
  • Manage the social calendar: organise, plan, and coordinate timely content, including creative use of our growing library of photos, videos, and farmer stories.
  • Develop original, meaningful content ideas while staying on top of relevant Instagram and social trends.
  • Plan, produce, and shoot on-brand content for Instagram (and possibly YouTube Shorts).
  • Write thoughtful and engaging captions in our brand's voice.
  • Assist with partnerships and collaborations for social campaigns.
  • Track social media engagement.
  • Engage with our online community: respond to DMs and comments, repost stories, and make our followers feel truly part of the Black Baza Coffee family.
  • Organise and facilitate in-person gatherings at our Roastery, creating opportunities for direct engagement and dialogue.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Canva and video editing tools, plus native Instagram editing features.
  • Strong eye for framing, lighting, and storytelling when shooting content.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and idea-sharing.
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities; able to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace and quick to learn tools like Trello and Shopify.
